AI Summit 2026

Our Acting Head of Research Support Office Fausto Ferreira participated as a featured panelist at the AI summit 2026 that took place March 19-21 in Budapest, Hungary.

The panel 6 called “AI First, or Robot First?” , which explored the critical intersection of artificial intelligence and physical robotic systems, was moderated by Prof. Tamás Haidegger of Obuda University. A major highlight of the session was the participation of the distinguished Prof. Oussama Khatib from Stanford University, a world-renowned pioneer in the field of robotics and human-robot collaboration.

Participation in such a high-caliber summit underscores CoE MARBLE’s mission to establish Croatia as a European “lighthouse” in maritime robotics. By engaging with global leaders like Prof. Khatib, the MARBLE team continues to integrate cutting-edge AI and autonomous technologies into the sustainable blue economy, fostering innovation that bridges the gap between theoretical AI and practical, sea-faring robotic applications.

The summit itself served as a landmark event for the Central European AI ecosystem, featuring three days of intensive exchange between researchers, industry giants, and policymakers.
