Dario Lečić, CoE MARBLE’s Senior Proposals Expert, attended the opening ceremony of the project “Science Comes to Town” in Split on 20 January 2025. Science Comes to Town is a EU-funded project which will turn three European cities – Brest (France), Kiel (Germany) and Split (Croatia) – into hubs for a broad audience (from children to seniors, from young professionals to experts and from individuals to groups) to co-create knowledge, spark curiosity, and shape a more informed, connected future.

This visit was an opportunity for CoE MARBLE to make connections in the field of science communication, popularization of science and ocean literacy. As all three host cities of SCTT are coastal cities with strong connections to its marine environment, there are numerous shared interests and opportunities for collaboration. Dario explored the possibility of CoE MARBLE implementing some activities in Split within the framework of the SCTT project as well as collaboration on similar future science communication programmes.
