EMRA 2026

MARBLE team participated at EMRA 2026 (European Workshop on Marine Robotics and Applications) in Lisbon, Portugal, that took place June 23-24. This year, EMRA was organized by the Institute for Systems and Robotics and Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon.

Our Director Prof. Nikola Mišković presented MARBLE’s new infrastructure during the Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence session. He detailed the project’s growth as a major European research hub and its development of smart maritime test sites across Croatia.

Our Head of Research Barbara Arbanas Ferreira headlined the Innovation Actions session, presenting our project ARTEMIS (Autonomous Robotic Technology for Environmental Monitoring, Intervention and Safety), highlighting how MARBLE is deploying autonomous robotics to solve real-world ocean conservation and safety challenges.

Simultaneously in Lisbon, during the 5th MARBLE project and Supervisory Board meeting, partners celebrated a major project milestone: their first two pilot testing sites in Croatia – Fiumanka Smart Marina in Rijeka and Šibenka Smart Mussel Farm in Šibenik are now officially operational in the water.
